Our wonderful incoming Cohort IV of Global Citizen Scholars cobbled together their first video challenge, during the summer of 2020, before they began their first semester at Allegheny College. In participating in this project, they overcame the challenges of a pandemic lockdown, difficulties in accessing technology, varying technical skills, and geographical distance. They were asked to talk about a female leader or inspirational figure that they admire. Here are a few of the diamonds in the rough. We were thrilled at the diversity of responses and the willingness to engage despite their personal circumstances. It was a great segue to a semester during which they explored what it means to be a Global Citizen Scholar, and the objectives of this program.
